Job Description

Sukkur Electric Power Company Limited (SEPCO) is a public sector power distribution company that supplies electricity to more than 0.8 million consumers across 10 districts of Northern Sindh. SEPCO is seeking experienced and highly qualified professionals for C-level positions based in Sukkur. Available Positions & Eligibility Criteria


1. Chief Internal Auditor

  • Qualifications:
    • Must be a member of a recognized professional accounting body (CA/CPA/ACMA/ACCA/MBA Finance) from a reputable local or international university.
  • Experience:
    • At least five years of relevant experience in risk management, compliance, internal control procedures, and financial reliability in the public or private sector.
    • Must have a strong understanding of governance, risk, and control frameworks, particularly in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) or public sector projects.

2. Chief Legal Officer

  • Qualifications:
    • Must hold a Master’s degree in Law (16 years of education) from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
    • Must be a licensed advocate of the High Court.
    • Experience in post-qualification as a practicing lawyer, with expertise in corporate law, commercial transactions, contracts, legal advisory, and regulatory affairs.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the energy or power sector.
    • Prior leadership experience as a Senior Counsel or Chief Legal Officer is an advantage.

3. Chief Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Officer

  • Qualifications:
    • Must hold a Master’s degree (16 years of education) in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
    • Strong knowledge of information systems, including software, languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends.
    • Proven experience in leading major IT change initiatives, complex projects, and change management at the organizational level.
    • Must have expertise in designing and implementing effective IT governance frameworks.

4. Company Secretary

  • Qualifications:
    • Candidates with a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Law from an HEC-recognized university will be preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
    • Must be a member of a recognized professional accounting body or a recognized body of corporate or chartered secretaries.

5. Director General (MIRAD)

  • Qualifications:
    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Law, or Management Sciences from an HEC-recognized university.
    • A Master’s degree in Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience, including at least 10 years in the power sector or related fields.
    • Must have expertise in technical, commercial, and financial matters of the power sector, along with contract management and regulatory affairs.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of electricity market competition and related experience will be preferred.
    • Must demonstrate leadership, excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
    • Should be able to handle market challenges and identify growth opportunities for SEPCO.


Age, Tenure & Remuneration

  • Maximum age limit:
    • 55 years (as of the closing date of applications). No age relaxation is allowed.
  • Initial contract period:
    • 2 years (extendable based on performance and approval by the Board of Directors).
  • Compensation:
    • Market-based salary and benefits as per SEPCO’s regulations and policies for C-Level positions.

Other Terms & Conditions

  • Experience considered must be post-qualification.
  • Candidates must meet the Fit and Proper Criteria per State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Act 2023 and SOE Guidelines 2024.
  • If a currently employed individual is selected, they must resign from their current position before joining SEPCO.
  • Selected candidates will be assigned quarterly targets with specific timelines and deliverables.
  • Applicants must be Pakistani citizens.
  • Individuals dismissed from public sector organizations or debarred due to financial misconduct are not eligible.
