The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was established in 2000 and is Pakistan’s main organization that manages the country’s national identity system. NADRA aims to register the information of every Pakistani citizen safely and transparently through modern technology. This process not only protects the identity of citizens but also plays an important role in national security, policy-making, and economic planning of the country.
NADRA Services:
NADRA provides various services, including issuance of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), Family Registration Certificate (FRC), and Juvenile Cards. NADRA also manages the registration of foreigners and refugees to keep an accurate account of all residents of Pakistan. Apart from this, NADRA also plays an important role in the electoral process, developing a transparent voter registration system and ensuring free and fair elections.
